Each class is tailored to the learner and is based on American Heart Association (AHA) standards but in no shape, form, or fashion have any monetary or advertising relationships with AHA.
Each class that provides a certification card is good for 2 years.
Spartanburg Medical Center Education Department (AHA Training Center) produces all certification cards.
BASIC LIFE SUPPORT (BLS)
This 1.5-2.5 hour class is for medical professionals or students entering the medical field. It is designed for professionals providing cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and automated external defibrillator(AED) use for patients in and out of the hospital setting.
HEARTSAVER
This 2-hour class is for non-medical professionals (daycare workers, construction workers, etc. to learn how to provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and automated external defibrillator (AED) use in a safe and timely manner.
HEARTSAVER FIRST AID
This 2-4 hour class is for people (daycare workers, construction workers, etc.) to learn how to provide first aid, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), and automated external defibrillator (AED) use in a safe and timely manner.
HEARTSAVER BLOODBORNE PATHOGENS
This 1-hour course is for people (tattoo artists) who have a reasonable chance of coming into contact with blood or blood-containing materials as part of their job responsibilities.
FAMILY AND FRIENDS
Basic CPR for anyone in the community. No CPR card will be provided.
